And then there were deer
Jul. 23rd, 2007 08:57 pmI am getting better at negotiating with the deer for the use of the path. Sure, I could just run past them, scaring them off it. I think. Sometimes, they just look at me and stand their ground.
Other times, I am learning, I can move and look at them in such ways as to help them move off the path, but not run off, so we can both be in the area together. Today was one of those days.
I negotiated the use of the path with a young male deer who, along with the female, let me walk past and walked just a little ways away but kept on eating as I started running several feet away.
Now, that's really just darn cool.
