danced last night
Jun. 30th, 2007 08:37 amLearned some waltzing and foxtrot and ... other stuff ... with a group of people who do and teach Vintage Dancing (1800 - 1950) weekly. Wow. All because two people from choir do this thing, one of whom I talk to a lot at St John's and was teaching last night.
They were mostly fannish, or mostly ren-faire people. Yay!
Tonight I'll go out with a different dance group that teaches and does vintage dancing. Tonight is a waltz night, with an hour of lesson and three hours of dancing. Monday night will be contra, which will be more like lines of square dancing which switches partners, if that makes sense and I understood correctly.
I'm looking forward to it all for two main reasons: it's social, and it requires forced interaction with others in ways that other stuff I do does not.
Plus, it's physical in a different way than other stuff I do, which is just plain fun!
