Even the forest changes
Jun. 12th, 2007 08:07 pmThe last two or three days in the forest, I've had to duck where I hadn't before. Today, I had to break a new path where the old path is now covered in bough.
The path I run on is decades old. And I can see in another place the newer path that goes around a huge dead tree that leans on another. Some people still use the old path, ducking under the dead tree. Some use the new path, passing to the open side.
You know what they say about change: it's inevitable, it comes slowly, small changes add up, sometimes you don't notice it until you look back. Sometimes, change is a choice.
Change is hard, but I believe there is life in change. Living takes courage.
