I just watched the 2005 Pride & Prejudice. Gosh, so much better than the 1999(?) version! More like the book!

And I really liked it! (Can you tell?)

A good movie to watch on Valentine's Day, or the day after an ice storm, or any other time you've got a couple hours.

Wow! Go get it from the library or your favorite DVD venue if you haven't seen it already ('cuz I said so, I guess).

Last summer I had lunch at the house in England that they used for Pemberly. It's called Chatsworth House. It's in the National Trust, which means it's sort of like a cross between a park and a museum. You can go and tour the house, or have a picnic on the grounds, and the former stables they have a glassed-in area with a fancy restaurant where they serve foodie meals that Tammy would like.

Now *that* is nifty. You've been to some very cool places, big houses seen in movies and other cool places around the world.

You have made some awesome decisions, IMO.

Actually, really, entirely unlike the book. The 1996 BBC 6-hour miniseries is much closer to the book. It's set in the right time, uses the right scenes in the right order, follows the book very very closely. The 2005 movie, while certainly entertaining, deviates from the book in so many ways, I don't want to bore you with the list. I enjoyed it, but as something that was NOT very close to the "original" story.

YMMV, obviously.

It seemed a lot closer to the book than whatever else I'd seen (which I am now trying to find on IMdb).

I'll look for the miniseries at the library, too, when I return this one. That's the one with Colin Firth? I think I caught one hour of it after my neck surgery, and wanted more, but it was the end I'd caught on television.
