They've replanted some trees in the parking lot at work. I am glad - it was sad to face the chip-filled holes every morning and evening, walking to the car. They aren't ash trees, of course.
Yesterday I met with a potential new therapist. I have been seeing someone for a little while now, but I don't feel like she can help me talk things out. So I'm looking for someone else. It's odd, interviewing therapists. I ask them questions, but the real thing I need to know is hard determine that way. I just have to talk, and see what happens. The one this week, at least, doesn't make me feel uncomfortable talking about Catherine. In fact, I feel like I can finally talk about her in therapy, and considering how big a deal this relationship is, that's a very good thing.
So I'm going to see this one again, see whether it feels like she can help me. Gods know, someone needs to either help me figure out how to be a single mom, or work out how I'm going to live with never having children, I'm not sure which.
Another thing I did yesterday was to run far longer than I have ever run before. 57 minutes, 6 miles, and today my legs are sore. The first mile and half or two miles are hardest, and then everything feels easier. That is, when it's below 80 degrees and dry-ish. Today is going to be hard - it's over 80 degrees, with something like 65% humidity. I'll be slower today.
Catherine and I are looking at places to go camping in a couple weeks. We want something with water and lots of actual hiking (not nature trails!), meaning a lake (preferable) and access to at least 15 miles of continuous trail. And not too far away, since we're just going for a weekend. Car camping with an all day hike, so we're looking at Manistee National Forest. Other suggestions which would meet the above, plus keep us away from the masses, would be great. Where have you enjoyed camping and hiking?
