If it's not one thing, it's your ... mammogram

The other thing that's been going on is that the Radiology department at my old Dr offices has been trying to track me down. UM recently changed how they do their mammograms so you don't have to wait around for a radiologist to read them. Instead, they call you back if you need another one. About 10 - 15% need additional views (called "diagnostic" views).

Upon leaving UM, my insurance ended (that was my understanding) and would start up again on 1 July with my new employer.

18 May: have screening mammogram
19 May: left UM
22 May: call from radiology, return call, no one is sure why I was called
25 May: call from radiology, return call at end of day, told I can wait for ins to start 1 July
30 May: call from doc office since I haven't made return visit, explain I'm in Cinci and I've made appt for 3 July with someone here
2 June: call from radiology again, explain again (no ins, in Cinci, appt 3 July), ask for call if that's too long to wait
5 June: call from radiology: can't wait until 3 June. I PANIC
5 June: start COBRA proceedings, try to get dr order from anyone so I can get diagnostic, radiology to FedEx medical records
6 June: make appt w/new doc for 8 June who can order diagnostics
7 June: wait ...........
