Weekend festivities in Ann Arbor

I had a great weekend in Ann Arbor. The new renters signed a lease, L & I helped a couple friends pack, we saw![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
nubianamy and her clan, and went to a great birthday party for a friend.
I am really glad when I get to seenubianamy and Ivy, and it was especially nice to see her parents. I plan to come back to Ann Arbor once a month - I don't think I can manage without doing that!
The party that night was great, too. Relaxing, although there wasn't much sleeping. I admit that I had two drinks and was feeling uninhibited. J convinced me to go to Festival this year, even if I can only go for a couple days. It wasn't hard - I regret not getting to go to Festival more than I regret not getting to go to France. I think.
On Sunday, we got to see a friend's new house and had lunch with her, and went to an old friend's wedding. That was great. Then we had a late drive back to the South and not very much sleep for either of us.
It was a beautiful wedding. And yes, they all are. (: This one was outside, but that's not what made it beautiful.
What makes a wedding beautiful is when the couple says their vows. The words and the ritual of bringing two people together in front of friends and family, the work that goes into creating a ceremony to celebrate the lifetime commitment, that is what is beautiful.
A & K had a beautiful wedding. I know the pictures can't possibly capture the way it made me feel to watch them say their vows, but I hope they come close, so that they can have some memory of what we saw and felt.
