Not exactly what I wanted
Dec. 8th, 2005 12:55 pmI just found out just now that I didn't get the job I was trying for. They said that they were really impressed, very positively impressed with my preparation and my ability to do the job. The only thing was that I was going for a job that was posted "candidate in mind," and the other candidate has more experience with the situation and has been partly filling that role for a while now.
They would hire me in a similar position, if there were one. Now I have to talk wtih the director about creating another one, one with more global scope, maybe. (:
It was a positive turn-down, and I'm disappointed because i wanted it, but not undone. I knew about the other candidate (the only other candidate), and figured I had a 50-50 chance. I may have, but now it's zero. Still, I feel pretty good, and I believe that I can move to this kind of position.
The position was a business analyst position: kind of a project manager and analyst, for a particular business unit in my department.
