Jul. 28th, 2004 11:00 amAll I think about is my new girlfriend. Everyone is saying to take it slow, but I'm so happy, I don't understand how to do that. Shouldn't walks and going places every day count as "going slow"? I'm guessing it means don't see her every day. I'm resisting.
Everything about her makes me excited and happy and wanting to find out more. She is different, and more wonderful, than anyone I've ever dated. And I'm happy to be dating her, and that she wants to date me! Yes, change is good, but I never expected it to be wonderful.
She meets or exceeds so many of the things I want in someone I'm around all the time. How can I be patient when I am so happy about everything? There are rules, of course, things like no giving up regular routines, always keeping appointments, no talking about serious stuff in email, etc. That will have to be enough for now.

Date: 2004-07-29 06:18 am (UTC)I'm glad she's making you happy.
Seriously, I think the thing to be cautious of is making this new person the entire center of your life and giving up everything else. I understand the temptation, and it's strong - NRE is like that - but I don't think it's healthy in the long run.
Balance and moderation.
Welcome to LJ.
