Surgery over, back to life
Sep. 28th, 2005 10:08 amSurgery went fine, of course. I'm just tired, but not sick at all. Yay! And this will (according to statistics) improve my chances of getting pregnant.
I'm so tired, I could barely walk a couple blocks yesterday. Nope, haven't run. I can barely believe I ran 31 miles last week. At least my endurance was up before surgery - now I'm hoping for a long walk today, and maybe try running tomorrow.
I did manage to get a bunch of things done this weekend before surgery, and that sure felt great. My lack of internet connection at home (okay, not a lack, exactly, but I have to stand in the kitchen or sit on the front porch to be able to use it) kept me off the computer and very busy, and that was fun. I now have a phone, which will facilitate getting internet. I also have cable, which will facilitate watching hockey. Why don't they televise all the pre-season games? What is wrong with the world that I couldn't watch the game last night??
My ceiling fans have been vacuumed. I wish I had time to wash windows - I love how clear everything looks afterwards. I was just too tired yesterday to do it.
I got back to work this morning, which is frenetic as we try to deliver all 8 software packages, including XP SP2, to all 13,500 workstations and laptops before 3 October. I had 137 work-related emails from two days away from the cube.
L arrives Friday evening. We're going on a date. Our first actual date (sometimes, you just don't have the luxury to do things in the normal sequence). She's agreed to see Serenity with me, but I'm not sure I want to go somewhere where we can't talk for two hours. Our original idea, before I asked her to go on a date with me, was to cuddle on the couch with a movie and chinese food. That still sounds wonderfully appealing - but can it be called a "date"? Shouldn't I take her out somewhere so it counts as a date? What counts as a date for you?
