Cleaned up
Feb. 7th, 2005 10:34 amI finally feel a bit more together. The convention is over. My house is clean. I've got food in the fridge, albeit leftovers from when Catherine and I cooked on Friday and Saturday evenings. I've read all my library books and returned them.
At work, I'm on top of things with the new "volunteer" position: the head of facilities, who has done nothing in 10 months, is going finally giving updates now that there's a new leader (me). The head of facility wiring for one floor has found someone to do volunteer time wiring and finally ordered parts (yay!). The head of support is setting up a meeting with me and a few volunteers, and we're going to get the QA process started on the computers which were installed over the past two years. The project is starting to move after about 8 months of lethargy. It's very exciting.
At work with my paid job, I'm at least afloat, not making bad waves, making progress in a good way, and that's gotta count toward good things.
The convention wrap-up meeting went well, and the ConCom had great ideas for improving things for next year, in terms of policies, ideas for areas, and small and easily implemented improvements. It was cool, and I hope I get to work with them again.
Things with Catherine are better than I've ever felt I've deserved, and better than I've ever dreamed things could be with another person.
I expect to be hit by a bus any minute.
