Moving is a full time job

After dropping the kids off at their respective schools, and then running for a couple miles, I spend time meeting with people, calling people, and either downsizing or packing. And I also goof off and spend 30 minutes reading or watching a video.
There have been a ton of folks to call, too! Contractors to do the two things this house needs fixed before I can turn it over to the new owner, and there is no roofer who will call me back. And contractors to do work on the new place, and so far I cannot find a floor refinisher to do the work in the time frame we have. This has been hard, and I don't know how I would have done all the calls to the new school, the contractors, and the discarding and packing and rearranging and (earlier) showings if I also had a job. And of course, taking care of the foster cats.
I have replaced the full time job I had with other things. I'm glad I've discarded a lot of things, and it's certainly hard to discard some things I haven't. I'll be glad when my friends come help me pack, so they can help me to get rid of things that need to go.
