Marathon training, even half-marathon training, is a lot different than just "running all the time." And that's weird.
Seems like I should just run every day, longer and longer distances. Except, it turns out, Oddly, the recommendation is usually shorter distances a couple days a week, then a long run on the weekend. I then have to not-run sometimes, so I can rest from some of the longer distances, especially when I run soooo much longer on the weekends than I run on the weekdays.
It would be better if I were running longer distances on weekdays, too, so there isn't such a gap to recover from between the long run and the short runs. After the race, I'd like to keep running 5 - 7 miles a day like I used to. Then there's not as much "recovery" time needed, and dangit, I like running nearly every day.
All this presumes the baby won't keep me from running. But heck, I've waited this long, who says the baby is ever coming, right? May as well make running plans. And look for a jogging stroller.
