A Long Weekend
Sep. 2nd, 2007 04:42 pm... filled with good things:
Ohio Ren Festival (warning, music) with
avjewe and family was fun, although I am now certain that there is something wrong with Ren Faires: I remember them as having a wide variety of high-quality goods available at extravagant prices, not a small variety of mediocre goods. Perhaps this is just my memory, or a change happening in the midwest, and perhaps I should visit NoCal again.
The Gathering of Waters Service at St John's UU, where everyone pours water from (or tap water representing) their summer trip, and tells everyone else what their journeys meant to them. Very moving and one more reason I know I love the people here. This was followed by my standard "lunch out" with older members. Today we went to a new restaurant that opened down the street. Yummy food, and I could eat more than just a salad!
Labor Day weekend fireworks from the local rock station, which lasts forever and half a million people come down to watch. It's awesome, and I love fireworks. I'm going with people from St John's.
And one whole day still free! I could go to a pot-luck, or simply spend more time in the sun, or do that and take a walk at the park, and still do other stuff. I have books to read and borrowed movies still to watch before all my rehearsals start in earnest and I never have free time. But for now: Ahhhhhhh .... !
